Hi, my name is Alexis and I am a third-year majoring in biology. I love physiology and molecular biology and am interested in pursuing a career in healthcare or scientific research. I joined AGSS to increase access to STEM education and become more involved in the Charlottesville Community. As president, I hope to increase our partnerships with other local organizations and expand upon our guest speaker series. In my free time, I love staing active, especially running and skiing. Vice President: Nazifa AzamHello! My name is Nazifa Azam, and I am third-year majoring in Global Public Health and minoring in Computer Science. Although I am not certain about my career path yet, I currently hope to either pursue a career as a physician or as a bioinformatician. I joined AGSS because I like giving back to the community and love the idea of promoting STEM through workshops. I've worked with kids in the past as a tutor, and I think that the workshops we provide are a fun way in instilling interest in Charlottesville youth! For fun, I enjoy crocheting, binge watching TV series, and listening to music.

Treasurer: Zaina NasimHi, I'm a second year at UVA and a neuroscience major. I love traceling and want to be a dermatologist in the future. My favorite part of being in AGSS is getting to work with and build relationships with the young students during workshops!

Secretary: Stella HessionHi! My name is Stella Hession, and I am a second-year Computer Science major. I have always enjoyed STEM whether through math olympiads, programming clubs, or organizing an independent published research project. I originally joined AGSS looking to connect with like-minded women in STEM, and I ended up discovering a passion for educating children! I am so lucky to have found such an exciting way to give back to our community. In my free time, I enjoy baking, going on walks, and hanging out with my friends!

Marketing Chair: Charlotte HalfordHi, my name is Charlotte! I am a second-year on the pre-med track. I'm undecided about my major and am planning to minor in dance. I am excited about becoming more involved in AGSS this year as I love this club and its mission. It's so fun to see children engaged and curious about science and math topics. I love when they come up with questions I have never even thought about.

Outreach Coordinator: Ambica SharmaHi! My name is Ambica Sharma and I am a third year majoring in Biochemistry and Biology. I hope to become a physician and researcher in the future. I joined AGSS because I am passionate about STEM subjects and wanted to shared my passion with women of all generations. I think this organization's impact through volunteer work is great! I look forward to working as volunteer coordinator and helping to increase girls' access to STEM. During my free time, I enjoy cooking, baking, and playing basketball and tennis.

Physics Curriculum Head: Cynthia JiaHi everyone! My name is Cynthia Jia, and I am a fourth-year majoring in Biology. I am super excited to be the Physics Curriculum Head this year. My favorite part of AGSS in watching the students in our program gain new knowledge in STEM and develop a genuine interest in the subjects. I also really enjoy the community within AGSS and love spending time with all the girls in the club. A fun fact about me is that I am preparing to run a ten-miler this year, and I love watching romcom movies during my free time.

I aspire to become a Physician Assistant specializing in pediatrics, and AGSS has given me the opportunity to grow alongside a supportive community of women in STEM while making a meaningful impact in the Charlottesville area. In my spare time, I enjoy playing soccer, hiking, and baking with my friends.

Math Curriculum Head: Megan MasriHi everyone! My name is Megan Masri and I am a third year majoring in Computer Science and Applied Statistics. I have always enjoyed STEM since I was little especialy trying to figure out how things work. I joined AGSS because I'm passionate about making STEM more approachable, exciting, and empowering for younger students. I'm especially excited to help girls build confidence in math and for them to see how STEM can be fun and collaborative. Outside of school, I love trying new restaurants around Charlottesville , baking, and playing pickle ball.
