Anabel Weinstein, Vice PresidentAnabel is a junior at La Jolla High School, who has always been interested in astrophysics, planetary science, and math. This past summer, she interned in the Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics at Scripps Institute of Oceanography, engineering a drone and analyzing orbital remote sensing data to calculate ice melt rates in Antarctica. She will be presenting her research on the accuracy of orbital stereophotogrammetry-derived ice-bottom elevation data sets at the AGU24 (American Geophysical Union) conference in December. Anabel is also president of the astrophysics club at her school, partaking in NASA DIVER at JPL yearly. This is her third year volunteering for AGSS, and she is so excited to provide a safe space for girls to explore their interests in STEM and to serve as vice president. In her free-time, Anabel loves going to concerts, watching F1, blasting Noah Kahan, traveling, and over-consuming boba.
