Anabel Weinstein, PresidentAnabel is a senior at La Jolla High School who has always loved physics and math. She interned at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, where she engineered an Antarctica-bound drone, presented her research on the accuracy of orbital stereophotogrammetry for glacial ice melt in Antarctica at the American Geophysical Union’s annual conference, and had the opportunity to publish on the Harvard-NASA Astrophysics Data System. She also spent a summer researching a near-Earth asteroid at the Summer Science Program, catalyzing her love for astrophysics. This is Anabel’s fourth year volunteering for AGSS; she is constantly inspired by the girls she meets and works with, so she is deeply honored to provide STEM opportunities to them and to serve as president. In her free time, she adores practicing for choir, competing in Speech and Debate, taking her dog to the beach, and blasting Laufey.
