Interested in volunteering? Join our AGSS at UVA team!
Looking for service? Passionate about STEM? A bored first-year who can't wait to get out of their dorm and into the community? Look no further. The All Girls STEM Society at UVA is an official CIO dedicated to service. Our team works with not only girls but also students of racial and ethnic minority in order to lift them up and encourage them to find their passion in STEM. All our members are volunteers. We have meetings once a month and plan events as needed.
Everyone is welcome to join our team and volunteer, regardless of gender, background, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, etc. All we ask for is a great attitude, a love for STEM education, and the willingness to teach and mentor in the spirit of service. Students of any major are more than welcome. We have volunteers in majors ranging from Human Biology to English Poetry, so our membership intake is vast! We strongly prefer college students, preferably those who attend the University of Virginia or surrounding institutions, as we may require travel to certain sites or workshops. However, we are open to working with motivated high schoolers at discretion of the Executive Board.
