Danica Chen, Director of Communications

​Danica Chen is a senior at Del Norte High School and has been a member of AGSS since 2015. She has received a plethora of writing awards from several organizations, including the California Association of Teachers of English, The Leyla Beban Young Authors Foundation, the Flying Leatherneck Historical Foundation, and the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. She won the grand prize in the San Diego Public Library’s 20th annual student writing contest. She also worked with the Running Readers program at Community HousingWorks as a tutor and homework helper to teach elementary school students literary skills. Currently, as a WHAT member and an academic tutor, she teaches writing, math, and analysis to other students at Del Norte. Her hobbies include reading, writing, and listening to Broadway musicals.
