This free event is open to all girls who are in grades 3-8 from public, private, or home schools on a first-come, first-served basis.
Guest Speaker
Eric J. Sprunk has been working as an Engineer for over 35 years, and has been in the field of security technology for over 27 years, including communications, hardware, software, Emmy-award-winning systems, and cryptography. He has participated in anti-piracy activities including criminal trials and civil litigation, expert witness testimony, and technical support of law enforcement and government. Until August 2017, he was Vice President of the ARRIS (Motorola) trust authority, with over 3 ½ billion keys generated. He is also a Dan Noble Fellow of Motorola.
In addition to his professional life, Eric has always been fascinated by nature and its marvels, including mathematics, physics, astronomy, cosmology, and in particular extreme or unusual phenomena such as eclipses. He has seen 3 solar eclipses and will be enthusiastically attending the Great American Eclipse on August 21st, 2017. Eric and his wife Patty have been overlanding enthusiasts for many years, and will be travelling to Oregon in their off-road van to experience the event. |
