Emma Hong - President (2019-2022)Emma has been a part of AGSS for 5 years: first as a participant, then volunteer, then school ambassador, and finally the president for three years (since the summer of 2019). She has lead various AGSS workshops including Python, Scratch, and Logic Puzzles, as well as spearheaded the Magic of Mentorship collaboration with Athena, a nonprofit in San Diego that empowers professional women in STEM. She can't wait to see what the future holds for the All Girls STEM Society!
Outside of AGSS, she enjoys competing in math competitions including American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME), American Regions Mathematics League (ARML), and MIT Math Prize for Girls, and attending several STEM camps such as Awesome Math, Michigan Math and Science Scholars, and LaunchX. To further explore her STEM interests, she had the amazing opportunity of conducting research in Computer Security under the guidance of a professor at Princeton University, where she helped evaluate an algorithm that encrypted sensitive image data. At the Bishop's School, she served as President of the Physics Club, the Math Club, and the Performing Arts Council, as well as played for the varsity soccer team since freshman year. She also was a member of the school's Acting Workshop, performing in several plays such as She Kills Monsters and On the Razzle. Currently, Emma is a student at Stanford University, passionate about math, physics, and computer science. |
