Emmie Kao, Co-Director of Mathematics Curriculum
Emmie is a freshman at The Bishop’s School and has been there since sixth grade. She enjoys studying all STEM subjects, especially math. Her interest in math started as early as she can remember. Emmie has participated in the MOEMS, MATHCOUNTS, AMC 8/10, and inteGIRLS math competitions. In addition to being part of the Bishop’s Middle School Math Club and team in the past, she is also currently a member of San Diego Math Circle and loves to learn new math concepts through workshops and lessons. Aside from math, Emmie enjoys coding, robotics, and engineering, the last of which she hopes to pursue as a career. She is also a member of Fleet Science Center’s Better Education for Women in Science and Engineering (BE WiSE) program, which inspires young women to pursue their interests in STEM. She hopes to encourage girls attending AGSS workshops in the same way, teaching them not only about workshop topics but also resilience and curiosity about the world around them. In her free time, Emmie enjoys reading, playing soccer, watching Marvel movies, and petting her dog.
