Kira Tran, Director of Technology Curriculum
Kira is a junior at the Bishop’s School. She enjoys participating in math competitions, like the Caltech Harvey Mudd Math Competition and the AMC 10/12. In the past she has helped run VEX robotics competitions and a forensics summer camp. Kira is currently taking Honors Computer Science and leads an on-campus club for engineering. She has many passions. As a sophomore, she won the 2017 Ekal-Appathon for designing an app and the Molly Martinek Writing Award for her poetry. She has been on the chair for KnightsMUN at Bishop’s and attends TritonMUN Fall/Spring at UCSD to make resolutions about global issues. Over the summer quarter, she took Electrical Engineering and Greek and Latin Roots of English at Stanford University (and learned how to do her own laundry!) She also enjoys applying her interest in technology everywhere and has been a member of theatre tech for two years. She has managed microphones, sound design, and lighting design for a variety of school productions, including In the Heights, Romeo and Juliet, Les Miserables, and choir concerts. For the past two years, Kira has received the Presidential Award for community service. Overall, she loves learning about problem solving from mathematical, technological, and political perspectives. Kira can also be found singing, playing piano, doing escape rooms, competing in indoor and beach volleyball games, or hugging her little brother.
