Kira Tran, Director of Science Curriculum
Kira is currently a senior at the Bishop’s School. She has a variety of interests (STEM being one of her favorites of course ^-^) She enjoys participating in and running STEM competitions and summer camps. Kira also leads an on-campus club for engineering and technology, which works with fun hi-tech equipment, from Arduinos to laser cutters. After sophomore year, she took Electrical Engineering, and Greek and Latin Roots of English at Stanford University (and learned how to do her own laundry!) She also joined a summer acapella group while she was there! At school, she is part of the Secretariat for the MUN team and enjoys facilitating conferences in addition to representing different delegations. This summer, she traveled to Barcelona, Spain to take an international law and global governance course at ESADE University. She enjoyed meeting people from around the world to share different ideas about global events and learn about the world from a global point of view. She has been a member of theatre tech for three years. She has managed microphones, sound design, and lighting design for many school productions, including In the Heights, Romeo and Juliet, Les Miserables, and choir concerts. Overall, she loves learning about problem solving from mathematical, technological, political, and artistic perspectives. You can find her helping out at most AGSS workshops and leading the Scratch Programming Workshop! (And a new one coming soon…) Kira can also be found in the wild studying for the SAT, singing, playing volleyball, or hugging her adorable little brother.
