Mia Gover, Senior Advisory CouncilMia is a senior at The Bishop’s School, and is in her fourth year volunteering with AGSS. She first discovered her interest in STEM by convincing a tutor to teach her Python instead of writing an essay. One of her favorite areas of STEM is engineering, which she has pursued outside of the classroom through competing internationally in the Rapidly Manufactured Robot Challenge, a disaster-response themed event at RoboCup. This year, she was the only female driver at the competition and designed parts of the robot using CAD. Mia is also passionate about biology, and this summer interned at the Rady Children’s Institute of Genomic Medicine, where she assisted on the development of their newborn whole genome screening program. In her free time, she enjoys going to concerts, reading nonfiction books, and hanging out with her friends.
