Patrick Paxson, Director of BioinformaticsPatrick Paxson is a junior at Westview High School. He participates in many math competitions, qualifying for AIME and ARML consistently. He also tutors elementary and middle school children for math. An avid programmer, he has been involved with robotics since 4th grade, and takes part in a college robotics competition called Robosub. He is fluent in HTML, Java, and Python, and has a lot of experience with coding. Perhaps most importantly, Patrick is a biologist. Having interned at Singlera Genomics as a sophomore, he is now researching a way to consistently identify prostate cancer in its early stages. In his free time, Patrick enjoys playing flute, having performed at Carnegie Hall and won the John Phillip Sousa award, and playing water polo.
